Chairman Jeff Breininger '85 (Capt, resd) Jeff is one of the founding members of Blue Alliance. After graduation he attended UPT at Laughlin AFB, TX in class 86-06. After earning his wings he spent 4 years as a T-38 first assignment instructor pilot (FAIP). In 1990, upon the invasion of Kuwait, scores of instructor pilots were called up for early re-assignment. He was transferred to Dover AFB, DE becoming an aircraft commander in the C-5 and flying more than 50 missions in support of Operation Desert Storm/Shield. He left the Air Force honorably in 1992 and returned to graduate school in Chicago, IL, earning an MBA at the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. Jeff has lived in San Francisco, CA since graduating in 1995, and works at Morgan Stanley in the Bay Area.
Executive Director Trish Heller '87 (LtCol, resd) Trish is a founding board member of Blue Alliance and a native Coloradan, and graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1987 with a major in Pre-Law. She went on to become a pilot, flying over 3500 hours of military airlift in the Air Force, including many missions for wartime operations. Tricia was also fortunate enough to pursue her other professional passion and graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in 1999, while still flying as an Air Force Reservist. She currently serves as in-house counsel for a manufacturing company, as well as holding positions on a number of boards for organizations dedicated to social issues and engagement and is still quite active with Air Force Academy cadets, leadership and alumni. She lives in Broomfield with her wife of 29 years, Regina Brown (USAFA ‘85)
Dr. Regina Brown '85 (Maj, resd) Dr. Regina "Gina" Brown is a founding board member of Blue Alliance and grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado. Gina followed the footsteps of her father, Chief Master Sergeant Louis Brown Jr., one of the first African American Chiefs in the Air Force, who served from 1947 until 1980. Dr. Brown received her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 1985. She served as an industrial engineer before becoming a Medical Service Corps Officer in the Air Force Reserve. She attended Saint Louis University School of Medicine where she received her MD in 2000 with a distinction in research. Dr. Brown completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Georgetown University in 2003 and specialized in Oncology. She went on to complete her fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2006. Dr. Brown spent over 13 years in clinical practice as an oncologist, and is currently the Medical Director for early development in Oncology with Janssen Research and Development. Dan Dwyer IV '12 (Capt, resd) Dan Dwyer is a Virgo and graduated in 2012 from CS-10, Tiger Ten! (Huzzah) He separated from active duty in 2019 with 7 years of service as a Logistics Readiness Officer culminating in being awarded as Air Combat Command's #1 Logistician in 2018. He is now a civilian, and resides in Denver, Colorado where he is a student at Metropolitan State University of Denver in pursuit of an advanced academic degree in Clinical Psychology. Known by his peers for his dark sense of humor, Dan enjoys sharing USAFA-centric stories and experiences.
Capt Anna Cruz '14 Capt Anna D Cruz currently serves as Project Management Lead, Financial Integration and Innovation, Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center (AFIMSC), San Antonio Texas. In this role she uses modern data analytics techniques to streamline and improve the processes used at the financial services offices of all 78 Department of the Air Force bases around the world. She is currently completing course work toward becoming a Certified Financial Planner. In 2021 she received an MBA from New Mexico State University. Anna is supported by her lovely wife, active-duty Army Captain Natasha Silva, and her beautiful infant son.
